My third thrift store collaboration, and these are just getting harder and harder. I don't have really any experience painting metal, so I guess it turned out alright. I tried pretty hard, but it looks very cartoony.
This is probably the worst bomb when it comes to matching style than the other two I've done, but at least the colors match alright. I didn't use any black to make the grey metal since there's no black in the picture so if the metal is a little discolored, I'm sorry for it.
In fifth grade, "War of the Worlds" was my favorite book. I must have checked it out at least three times from the library. It was also the first and only audio book to scare the ever loving crap out of me. If you want to scare me, get a good alien/sci-fi movie. ET, Xenomorphs, yes, even Shyamalan's "Signs" gave me a real good fright. I can't watch axe murderers until the days end, but it's aliens that will freak me out. (Oh god, and "The Mist". I will never forget what an experience that was. Good god.)
Hope you guys like it. Especially you H.G. Wells fans out there.
I rather like this one! And I don't think you need to be so hard on yourself. Your painting really doesn't look obvious against the pictures. It's not like, "Oh... I can see that someone painted on this..." it feels like someone with a sense of humor painted the whole thing. They look awesome!
Thank you! I'm going to do more, but my friend reminded me that the Kumoricon mascot contest's deadline is rolling in. I haven't even gotten a finished design let alone started creating something
